Egg salad sandwiches for the baby shower
Guest post written by Katie Morrow
Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I noticed that a lot of the food that I’m craving has to do with eggs. I never hated eggs, but I never particularly craved eggs either. So I’ve basically been living off of egg salad sandwiches over the past couple of months. There’s one specific recipe that I like of it though, so I’m making sure that my sister who’s throwing my baby shower gets that recipe right.
I know that it’s kind of crazy to make that specific egg salad request, but I am a hormonal pregnant lady. I went online to find the right recipe to email to her and when I was doing that I ran across some wildbluedeals that sounded really great so I signed our household up to one of them.
I finally found the egg salad recipe and sent it over to my sister. I made sure to emphasize in the email that I know it’s not mom’s that we normally fix, but this is the recipe I’ve been craving my whole pregnancy so I’d appreciate it if she fixed this one instead.
How to protect your identity online
Many consumers are now aware of the risks they take being online and engaging online shopping. But that’s not enough. Actually, 75% of respondents thought a firewall offered them enough protection to safeguard their identities online while another 62 percent believed antivirus software was enough protection against malware. Firewalls and antivirus software are important for protecting a computer, the tools don’t offer enough protection to safeguard a consumer’s privacy and identity while online. Online identity theft is much more common than we think and consumers are inundated with conflicting information about what they need to do to protect themselves as they surf the Web. Consumers need to realize that the steps they take to protect their computer system are not the same measures they need to safeguard their privacy and identity when they’re online. Firewalls and antivirus software simply aren’t enough.
To protect your identities online:
* You should have a plan that includes privacy and identity protection, computer system protection, browser protection, and a fraud alert service.
* Hide your IP address. Install software that hides your IP address, and therefore your identity and online activities, from criminals, search engines, and advertisers.
* Use Wi-Fi protection. Virus protection and protection against malicious software don’t protect you from cybercriminals who might be lurking on unsecure connections. When you access the Internet through a Wi-Fi hotspot — whether through a computer or mobile device — use an online anonymity product that encrypts your identity .
* Think twice before you type. Beware of what you post on social networking sites because cybercriminals are lurking there to try and steal your personal information.
Email Attachments
In Email attachments, we should always be careful. If we see the file extensions look like these below, take a extra precaution.
.scr – Windows Screen Saver – USE CAUTION if you receive a screen saver via email. They can contain worms or viruses
.pif – DO NOT OPEN! This is most likely a virus. Clicking it will run a program or code that can mess up your computer.
.exe – executable file – a program that contains a virus, Trojan horse, or worm
.pps – MS PowerPoint (can contain macro virus)
.zip – Zip (compressed) file
.vbs – Visual Basic script
.bat – Executable MS-DOS batch file
.com – DOS executable command
.asp – active server page – internet script
.doc – Word document (can contain macro virus)
.xls – Excel file (can contain macro virus)
File extensions tell what the program is and how to treat a particular piece of data. For example, most people are somewhat familiar with .doc or a .txt file extensions these are both text documents. Hackers use some emails and activate the virus, which is always an attachment. Most Anti-virus nowadays stops, or at least warns you of high risk attachments. But don’t just rely on that. Don’t open a file or any link from a sender that you don’t recognize to be doubly sure.
