Before my brother bought the Guitar Hero game I was pretty limited music-wise to rap and hip-hop music. But he got it over Christmas vacation and I didn’t have any homework to do, so I decided to give it a try because he wanted to try the multi-player mode anyway.
I ended up becoming just as obsessed with it as he was. It also opened me up to a whole world of classic and older rock ‘n’ roll that I had never considered liking before. But the game format was just so much fun that I started looking up the original tracks of some of the game’s songs on my wildblue satellite and learn the words to them.
Eventually I started playing the game enough that I really wanted to listen to the songs outside of the game and online so I used my wildblue satellite internet to buy and download some of the songs to my MP3 player.
I never thought that a random video game would impact my life so much, especially because I don’t really consider myself a gamer.
