Thanks for the post, Lucius Gaines
Every Thursday night my daughter and I go shopping at the grocery store. It seems every week, neither she or I can decide what we want to make for that weeks dinners. Needless to say we just Wonder in the grocery store until we find something we are both willing to make and to eat.
As we were shopping this week, an on duty police officer that’s a friend of ours walked up and we started to talk. Her children are in school with my daughter, and we were talking about the soccer game. Over the her radio, I heard there was a breakin in our neighborhood. I asked my daughter if she remembers if I set the security choice security alarm before we left the house for grocery shopping? She said yes.
My friend was going off duty, my daughter an I didn’t feel like cooking that night, so she called her husband and told him we were going over for dinner. While we were at the grocery store, we bought shrimp, steak, potatoes, and every colored pepper we could find. We picked up some dog food and other staples.
As we looked around my daughter and I found all kinds of good food to cook for the week. Why is it when you aren’t looking, you find it? So we continued to pick up more food for the week. She even talked me into making a pot roast, with sweet potatoes, carrots, and even pinapple and honey. I told her I can’t make that until the weekend, she agreed. But neither of us can wait for the weekend now.!
For breakfasts we decided we would have french toast, which is both our favorite, we got strawberries, and blueberries, and whipped cream for the top. There goes my diet! Lunches are a mix of subs and wraps. Oh and we can’t forget the mac and cheese.
As we wer about to cash out and take our groceries home, before going to our friends, I remembered we forgot the onion for tonight. We ran back through the store to the produce isle, and found alot more items to add to our cart.
