Sealing up for the winter
Guest post written by Kevin Sparks
Since braving our way through the recession, we’ve been trying to cut through on unnecessary expenses here and there.
Earlier this year my wife and I sat down and calculated our utility costs and found that we paid a lot for energy through the winter, a lot more than we have in years past even when he accounted for increased prices. We thought that we should probably tackle this before it became a problem again this winter.
We did a whole lot of research on energy saving windows and costs. I discovered that they were much more affordable than when I had considered doing the same a few years ago and looked at prices back then. It ended up that we would be able to recoup our costs over the next couple of years pretty easily.
We had them installed and even though this wasn’t our reason to get them, they looked so much better than our old windows! I hadn’t even realized how our old windows looked until I had seen the new ones. It really made a nice difference and I hope that will reflect in our power bills too.
