The ring effect of the Sun

January 23rd, 2009

Skywatchers! Check this out… There will be an annular or ring eclipse of the sun, on Monday January 26. This is when the moon’s disk will appear too small to totally cover the sun’s disk. During that time, the moon will be a bit farther from Earth than normal. An annular eclipse is way different from a total solar eclipse (which will happen on July 22.) This is called the ring effect. You will see a “penny over a nickel” outcome. The sun taking off a flaming rings of light bordering the dark shadow of the moon. This can be visibly seen in Southern Africa, and eastern India, southeastern China, Southeast Asia, and Australia. So, if you are in one of these places, have a proper eye protection. Even if you are in the path of the annular eclipse you will need to protect your eyes. I wish this could be seen here in North America. Oh, well, I am one of the fortunate people will see this ring effect.

The Magic Warble

January 21st, 2009

I always love fiction books like fantasy adventure. Fantasy adventure stories or movies have been my favorite since I was a kid. It takes me into imagination.

Of course, most fantasy books or stories show some facets of our lives that we can relate to. I like it when I can relate to the experiences and adventures of the characters. I just recently discovered a fantasy book called “The Magic Warble ”. It is a Juvenile fiction and it sounds really interesting as it draws my attention. I have read the summary and a few excerpts of the book. The story is about a young girl who found her inner strengths when she entered into the world of fairies, dwarfs, talking animals, villain and stuff like that.

Victoria Simcox wrote The Magic Warble book. When she was kid, her favorite fantasy book was The Chronicles of Narnia, which got her into writing fantasy books. If you want to know more about this book, go to the site, themagicwarble.com and you can find a few excerpts of the story. I can’t wait to have this book.

To gain weight

January 21st, 2009

My goal for this year to gain weight a few pounds like 5lbs. more, trim my abs, and define my muscles a little. I am not big but petite. Some people find me skinny. I used to weigh 95lbs. and now I gained 2lbs. That’s a little achievement there! Being a vegetarian, I want to gain weight by eating nutritious foods like rich in protein and carbs and of course, vegetables and fruits. I need to increase calorie consumption, though. My weight goal is 100 lbs or 105 lbs., which is ideal for height (since I am not tall). Overall, I want to be more healthy this year.

Modular Homes

January 20th, 2009

Are you planning on buying a house? House prices are gradually decreasing now, though, there are still houses that are expensive in other states. A lot of people lost their houses because in the first place, they could not afford to pay off their monthly mortgage payment. And now, it is not complicated to buy a house, if you don’t have a great credit record. The banks are very strict in giving loans to buyers.

However, some people are into Modular Homes. This is better than buying a site-built house. You can actually spend less or save money on buying a home directly from a factory. Modular Homes are prefabricated houses divided into various sections direct from a factory. They look just like conventional site-built house. But they are intended to be primarily stronger than traditional or site-built homes. You can find different modular home designs, shapes and sizes. I know a great site that specializes in modular homes. It is modulardirect.com. They have a wide array of beautiful modular homes. They offer a small or no down payment program.

Modular homes are more cost and time efficient than building a house. You can customize a modular home according to your taste and preference. You can have a two-story house, basement, many bedrooms, etc.

Bunions

January 20th, 2009

I was glad that my request for custom-made Orthotics or arch supports got approved by my medical insurance. I was even more happy to know that there is no co-payment associated with the Orthotics. I really need arch supports because I am suffering with bunions since I was a teenager. What is bunion? Bunion is bumps on the side of the big toe.Unfortunately, I have naturally broken arches. I have to wear proper shoes and custom-made Orthotics. Otherwise, the bunions will get worst and I have to get a surgery (I want to avoid it). The only way to correct my bunions is surgery but that is a last resort. On Thursday, I am going to my foot doctor for Orthotics Casting. I am kinda excited about it.
