The economic crisis…

January 28th, 2009

I don’t know when this economic crisis would end. Nobody knows the right answer. I heard a lot of big companies here in the U.S. are closing. In fact, one of the biggest home improvement retailers is planning to close some of their stores across the country. And this tremendously affects their employees.  Consequently, these people would be in great debt and would possibly foreclose their homes, file for bankruptcy, etc – you name it.

However, as the economy continuously goes down, there’s an increasing number of people who are in heavy debt. If you are one of these consumers who want to solve debt related problem, you might as well ask for debt help. You can consolidate your debt from different lenders or credit companies into one. In this manner, it lessens stress and debt problems. I know a lot of people went for debt consolidation in order to Reduce Debt. This is one of the ways to avoid bankruptcy. I am not an expert. But I believe debt consolidation is a great way to go. As you know, bankruptcy is not a great option because it seriously affects your credit record or rating. Trust me. Don’t you know that it would take you several years to re-establish your credit rating? So, why take risks, when there’s another way to solve your debt or reduce debt?

Inattention

January 28th, 2009

I was so nervous about my Paypal account today. I went online to check my account activity and to see how much money I got. I trembled when I saw Yahoo voice payment dated Jan. 27th. Since I am a spastic person, I panicked. And bad thoughts came into my mind-that Yahoo voice ripped me off. I asked myself – how could Yahoo voice overcharged me since the last time I used their service was last week. So, I hurriedly and nervously called up Paypal due to my spastic nature (like I said). I can smell the smoke coming out of my two lovely ears. The lady on the phone sounded very polite and nice. I told her about my problem. She listened to me. And then she explained everything to me. Well, due to my lack of care and inattention, the payment account was correct. When I used Yahoo voice last week, the payment was pending. It did not clear until yesterday. Whew! It was such a big relief. Lesson learned – I should check and monitor my account daily. I used to do it before but I got so busy lately. Anyway, I was glad to have a nerve to verify my account.

Recycling papers

January 26th, 2009

Home office and office supplies are useful in keeping your things organized and neat. I keep some office supplies at home and I am always on top of it. I keep some important office supplies neat and usable. I am completely conscious of how costly it can be maintaining office supplies. That’s why I usually buy  ink cartridges, envelopes, etc. in bulk. And I prefer recycled office supplies since they are affordable for many reasons.

It is nice to get involved in eco-friendly products. Paper use leaves damage to the forests and rivers. Wouldn’t be great to contribute something to our environment by recycling some papers like newspaper, paper kitchenware, gift wraps or bags, paper bags, etc. ? Actually, there are many ways you can do with them. Like for example, paper bags – you can use them when you shop at the store, instead of asking plastic bags or another paper bags. Additionally, you can use newspapers in wiping glass panel or mirrors. I personally recycle these things as I hate throwing them away. However, I came across a site dolphinblue.com. Dolphin Blue is a good source of environmentally responsible office supplies. It is the only online source where all products contain recycled content. They carry recycled office and home supplies. And they process office and home supplies by eco-friendly materials. I really like how they participate in nature conservation.

Auditorium Organ

January 26th, 2009

This is the Convention Hall Auditorium Organ. I amazed by it that’s why I featured it here. It is the pipe organ in the Main Auditorium (which can seat 41,000 people in the main auditorium) of the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, built by the Midmer-Losh Organ Company. The great hall is part of the world’s largest pipe organ. The organ has 33,112 pipes in 455 ranks, including a full-length 64 foot Diaphone Profunda, ten 32 foot ranks, and manual and pedal reeds that are under 100 inches of wind pressure, while most organs never exceed 10 inches of pressure. It is said that it takes 4 1/2 hours to tour the entire organ. What a bizarre instrument! Isn’t it? But I would to see this instrument in person. Well, I’ll put this in my list-to go.

The truth about Holodomor

January 23rd, 2009

History is full of good and bad events and records of the activities of people in the fullness of time. There are many things that happened in the past that might happen in the future. Just like this saying goes, “History repeats itself”. I would not want any bad things to happen again in the future especially, the World War or the controversial holodomor.

Well, since I mentioned Holodomor here. Let’s talk about it for the benefit of those who don’t know the exact truth about Holodomor. What is Holodomor? It was a great famine that the people in Russia called it “murder by starvation.” There was a great famine in Soviet Union or Russia in 1932-1933. This is really sad and upsetting. During that time, the Communist authorities of Soviet Union detained the crops and farming or agricultural goods for industrialization and economic transformation. It was a policy premeditated by Joseph Stalin. In other words, the Communists did it for economic reasons. But millions of people famished and suffered to death. That was the result of said economic transformation. This was formerly called Golodomor, which was changed to Holodomor to show it to the people that it was an act of genocide. The European Parliament, discarded the resolution to call this famine as an act of genocide but an unkind treatment and crime committed by Joseph Stalin.
