I came from the land of beautiful thousands of islands, Philippines. Philippines is located in Southeast Asia. It consists of 7,107 islands. Its land area is 300,000 sq. km. (117,187 sq. mi.). is one of the most populous countries in the Continent of Asia. Its Capital City is Manila, which is located in Northern Part. The language is Filipino known as Tagalog and official national language is English, language of government and medium of instruction in education.The first settlers in the Philippines were Austonesians – they individual group Malay, Formosan, Micronesian, Melanesian and Polynesian.
In 1521, Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan discovered the Philippines and claimed the archipelago for Spain. The Spaniards brought Christianity or Catholicsm to the Philippines. Philippines was under the colony of Spain for over 300 hundred year. Then, Philippines gain its Independence from Spain on June 12, 1896.
I have been to 7 islands in the Philippines. Someday, I want to see all islands in the Philippines. It seems impossible but who knows. But I have to save up money first, lol. Anyhow, there are many beautiful islands in the Philippines -see these pictures:
